Along with these bizarre, first-person stories told by credible people, Hopkins
and Rainey explore cutting-edge advances in our own technologies and scientific
theories that show how these new UFO patterns could have a concrete basis in
contemporary science.
Included are an examination of cloaking
devices for aircraft, mind-control technologies, and teleportation achieved in
the lab. Perhaps the most compelling argument to support these cases lies in the
startling and controversial new science of transgenics that actually allows for
the creation of alien/human beings.
CAROL RAINEY, Hopkins wife and co-author, is a writer and filmmaker who has produced and directed many PBS and independent documentaries on medical and scientific subjects.
Hopkins' ground breaking book. MISSING TIME - the first work to compare a number of UFO abduction cases in order to isolate the patterns inherent in such bizarre accounts - was published by Richard Marek/Putnam in 1981. His second book, INTRUDERS: THE INCREDIBLE VISITATION AT COPLEY WOODS, was published by Random House in 1987 and shortly thereafter became a national bestseller. A television miniseries based on Hopkins' work and entitled INTRUDERS aired on CBS in 1992 and has since been broadcast internationally. His widely acclaimed third book, WITNESSED-THE TRUE STORY OF THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE UFO ABDUCTIONS, was published by Pocket Books in 1996 , and has since appeared in a British edition as well as in German, Portuguese, Lithuanian and Chinese. So far Hopkins' books have been issued in one or more of fifteen languages. Including French, Norwegian, Dutch, Japanese, Romanian, Swedish. Polish, Italian, Spanish and Hungarian.
Throughout the years Hopkins' goal has been to bring an objective, dispassionate, scientific intelligence to bear on the UFO phenomenon. In pursuit of this goal he founded in 1989 THE INTRUDERS FOUNDATION (IF), a not-for-profit organization devoted to research and public education concerning this extraordinary enigma. IF publishes a respected journal and offers a nationwide referral service for those wishing to explore their own suspected abduction experiences. IF has also co-sponsored conferences of scientists, therapists and investigators who are jointly looking into the abduction phenomenon. Its most important project to date was a large national survey on the UFO abduction phenomenon, conducted by the Roper Organization. A full report of the startling findings was published in 1992 and was distributed to nearly 100,000 mental health professionals, and it remains a primary source of information for journalists, writers and producers around the world.
